Boys 3/4 Challenge #11
Step Back Passing: One of the main strategies in lacrosse for offense, is to dodge and draw a slide creating a strong side, then quickly move the ball to the weak side to attack the goal. This challenge mimics a quick passing motion to get away from a slide and move the ball. Players should set up two cones - one that is about 1 yard from wall or bounceback, the a second that is about 6 yards. Additionally, place a third cone about half way in between. Starting at the first cone with their back to the bounceback, players should drive to the second cone, then drop their hips and step backwards and make a pass. Players should then head towards the bouceback and catch the ball out of the air below the third cone. Players should repeat this motion 5X with their dominant hand, and 5X with their weak hand, with 1 allowable drop.
